RIGShare LLC ("RIGShare," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting the privacy of users of our platform at rigshare.app and any associated mobile applications (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use the Service.

By using the Service, you consent to the data practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

• Account Registration: Name, email address, phone number, and password.
• Identity Verification: Government-issued photo ID and selfie photograph, processed by Stripe Identity. RIGShare receives verification status but does not store copies of your ID documents.
• Payment Information: Credit card or bank account information, processed and stored by Stripe. RIGShare does not directly store your full payment card details.
• Equipment Listings: Equipment descriptions, photographs, pricing, location, and availability information provided by Owners.
• Communications: Messages sent through the platform's messaging system, support inquiries, and dispute submissions.
• Reviews and Ratings: Content you post in reviews of other users.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, search queries, booking history, and interaction patterns.
• Device Information: Browser type, operating system, device identifiers, and screen resolution.
• Location Data: Approximate location derived from IP address. GPS-stamped location data from equipment condition photographs taken during pickup and return.
• Cookies and Tracking Technologies: We use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to maintain session state, remember preferences, and analyze usage patterns.

2.3 Information from Third Parties

• Stripe: Payment processing status, transaction confirmations, and identity verification results.
• Analytics Providers: Aggregated usage and performance data.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
• Process bookings, payments, security deposits, and refunds.
• Verify user identity as described in our Terms of Service.
• Facilitate communication between Owners and Renters.
• Operate our AI-assisted damage assessment and dispute resolution systems, including analyzing photographs submitted during equipment pickup and return.
• Send transactional notifications (booking confirmations, payment receipts, dispute updates).
• Send marketing communications (you may opt out at any time).
• Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues.
• Comply with legal obligations, including tax reporting (e.g., IRS Form 1099-K).
• Enforce our Terms of Service and other policies.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following circumstances:

• With Other Users: Your name, profile photo, reviews, ratings, and approximate location are visible to other users. During an active booking, Owners and Renters may see each other's name, profile, and booking-related details. In unreturned equipment situations as described in our Terms of Service, we may share your contact information with the affected party.
• With Service Providers: We share information with third-party service providers who perform services on our behalf, including Stripe (payment processing and identity verification), hosting providers, analytics providers, and customer support tools. These providers are contractually obligated to use your information only to provide services to us.
• For Legal Compliance: We may disclose information to comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of RIGShare, our users, or the public.
• In Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, bankruptcy, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your information may be transferred to the acquiring entity.
• With Your Consent: We may share information for purposes not described here with your explicit consent.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. After account closure, we retain certain information as required by law (e.g., tax records for 7 years), to resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and for legitimate business purposes. Equipment condition photographs and dispute records are retained for 3 years after the completion of the associated rental.

6. Data Security

We implement commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal information.
• Deletion: Request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal retention requirements.
• Opt-Out: Opt out of marketing communications by following the unsubscribe instructions in any marketing email or by contacting us.
• Do Not Sell: We do not sell personal information. If applicable law grants you the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information as defined under such law, you may exercise that right by contacting us.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 18, we will take steps to delete such information.

10. International Users

The Service is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you understand and consent to the transfer of your information to the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the platform and/or by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
